"If it weren't for the penis, human life would have ended with Adam and Eve.
It seems strange that something so important is so funny-looking.
I'm an author and journalist. Sometimes I write about funny things.
Some of those funny things are penises."

Want a perpetual erection? Have your penis ossified

Pathologic calcification or ossification refers to the process by which calcium salts build up in soft tissue, causing it to harden and form extraskeletal bone. This may result from a malignant infiltrative process, hypercalcemia secondary to a paraneoplastic syndrome, end stage renal disease, calcium-phosphate abnormalities caused by hyperparathyroidism or other metabolic derangements, or from a local metaplastic process resulting from repeated trauma or a chronic inflammatory state.

Ossification occurring in the human penis is exceedingly rare, with fewer than 40 cases reported. Another related condition, “congenital human os penis,” is also extremely rare, with only 1 reported case in a 5-year-old boy. Ossification of the penis is most commonly due to Peyronie’s disease, a chronic inflammation of tunica albuginea that leads to penile fibrosis. The hardened plaque reduces flexibility and leads to a penile bend or curvature during erection. Less common etiologies of penile ossification have been reported, including local trauma to the penis, chronic hemodialysis in patients with end-stage renal disease, chronic inflammatory states as in syphilis and gonorrhea, and with general metabolic disorders such as gout and diabetes.

Case report

A 54-year old gentleman presented to the urology office with a 1-year history of a painless hard proximal penile masses involving one-third the length of his corporal bodies bilaterally. He was neither sexually active nor bothered by symptoms from this penile lesion; he presented, however, for workup concerning the possibility of malignancy. The patient denied any history of trauma or family history of genitourinary malignancy. He also denied penile pain, dysuria, irritative voiding symptoms or any other subjective complaints. To the patient’s knowledge, the hard mass had been present for several years and gradually increased in size over time.

Physical examination revealed a mobile, rock-hard, calcified mass palpable at the base of the penis circumferentially involving both proximal corpora. Digital rectal examination was normal and no inguinal nodes were palpable on examination. Results from routine laboratory evaluations were normal. A magnetic resonance imaging of the pelvis with gadolinium failed to identify any corporal abnormalities, and no pelvic lymphadenopathy was seen on imaging.

At this point, the decision was made to perform a cystoscopy and excisional biopsy of the calcified mass at the base of the penis. Cystoscopy revealed a normal urethra, bladder mucosa, and prostate, confirming that the plaque was external to the urethra. After degloving the phallus, the hard calcified proximal corpora were easily palpated and felt to be entirely replaced by a calcific process. An excisional biopsy was performed of the right corpora, with minimal bleeding noted from the calcified corporal body. Histological examination of this specimen revealed metaplastic ossification to lamellar bone with eosinophilic ossified matrix, lacunar spaces and haversian vascular canals characteristic of bone

SURPRISE: penis clippings are useful and valuable

Relax: photo shows fried calimari, not fried foreskins
Like embryonic stem cells, not all cells are fully "dedicated" or haven't fully developed their identifying proteins, meaning they haven't quite decided for good what they want to be when they grow up and therefore are much more versatile. This means that they can be used to help cultivate skin and skin byproducts (like collagen) with very little chance of rejection.
So with those foreskins, or more accurately, the fibroblasts from the cells of the foreskin, collagen can be lab-created, and where do you put collagen? On your face! Penis wrinkle cream, anyone?
Another use for foreskins is to create bio-skin grafts for burn victims and ulcers and other large-area open wound sites. Apligraf and TransCyte are two well-known products that use embryonic or foreskin fibroblasts for creation of their bio-skin. One of the biggest risks for burn victims is entry of infection or stress to the body from the large open wound -- adding a temporary or even permanent real skin "band-aid" has shown amazing results in not only reducing complications and recovery time, but in even saving the lives of burn victims who otherwise had a very good likelihood of dying. It's used for open ulcers much in the same way, giving the body a live cell band-aid that it easily accepts.
A third use is cosmetic testing -- rather than using animals, a lot of companies pay thousands of dollars for one foreskin to begin replicating to perform their cosmetic tests on. Not only does this give much more accurate results since it's human skin, but it saves the lives of normally tortured animals.
There's a lot of argument whether or not the whole promotion of benefits of circumcision, even proposed prophylatic benefits, is actually just a conspiracy to make money from the sales of foreskin. Arguments have also been made that that the foreskin should only be taken from still-birth infants, but again the arguments of "mutilation" and conspiracy of profit arise. But with all the amazing technology and lives saved and bodies healed from the unique cells a single foreskin can create, there's got to be a good common ground somewhere.

Arctic pollutants may be weakening polar bear penises

It’s not a good time to be a polar bear. Climate change threatening their natural habitat and lifestyle is just one of the major concerns facing this endangered species—now, scientists uncovered a link between their exposure to pollutants and a weakening in their penile bone. This obviously can cause some issues in the mating habits of the bears.
The research by a team at Aarhus University in Denmark discovered this correlation after studying penile bone specimens, known as baculum, from 279 polar bears from Greenland and Canada. Baculum—a bone lacked by human males, but found in other mammals like raccoons, bats, and mice—essentially works to aid the penis during reproduction.

Florida woman gets mere probation for attempted penisectomy. Hubby is pissed off

A Palm Springs woman was sentenced to three years' probation and 420 hours of community service after trying to cut off her husband's penis.

Virginia Valdez, 72, pleaded guilty to one count of assault with a deadly weapon in connection to the 2011 attack that sent her then 62-year-old husband to the hospital.

The victim, Cesar Valdez, blames the criminal justice system for how his ordeal ended. He spoke publicly Friday for the first time about what happened to him at the hands of his then-estranged wife.

"I am here in front of you today to emphasize that male spouses can also be victims of domestic violence, but in some cases, men are afraid to talk for fear of ridicule or for fear of being labeled as some sort of freak or a wimp," he said.

Attorney Gloria Allred, best known for handling high-profile cases involving women, represented Valdez.

"This is what was used on his penis," Allred said, while holding heavy-duty scissors. "There was a lot of blood coming out of his penis as a result of her attack on him."

How to prepare for penis reattachment

According to Dr. Doron Stember, assistant professor of urology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City, "the most important thing is, the penis should be attached as quickly as possible . . . .  The best way to transport the amputated penis is to put it in a plastic bag and put that plastic bag in another plastic bag with ice and slush, which cools it, and then get into the operating room as quickly as possible.”

To give a patient the best chance of experiencing a successful reattachment, he needs to be in an operating room within six hours of experiencing the amputation, according to Stember. Though successful reattachments have been reported up to 16 hours after an amputation, any attempts to reattach the penis beyond that point would likely fail.

Jealous wife cut off cheating husband's penis -- TWICE

A jealous wife in China lopped off her cheating husband’s penis as he slept, then snuck into his hospital room after he had it sewn back on — and hacked it off again and tossed it out the window.
Fan Lung, a dad of five, sealed his fate when he decided to use his wife’s cellphone to send his secret lover a hot and heavy email, Central European News reports.
The 32-year-old forgot to log out of his account after the message was sent, which is how his 21-year-old wife, Feng — who is now under arrest for grievous bodily harm — came across the saucy exchange and snapped.
The jilted wife went berserk, grabbed a pair of scissors, stormed into their bedroom and cut off his penis while he was sleeping.
Lung was rushed to the hospital, where doctors were able to save the appendage and sew it back on.
But Feng was able to sneak into the recovery room, where she chopped his penis off a second time and threw it out the window, according to CEN.
A shocked Lung chased his wife outside, despite losing a lot of blood.
“Staff rushed out to see what was happening and found the patient with blood streaming down his legs hitting the woman,” a hospital spokesman said. “He was stopped and the woman was taken in for treatment, and then we discovered she had chopped his penis off again.”
Despite desperate search efforts, authorities were unable to find Lung’s manhood. Police believe it may have been stumbled upon by a stray dog or cat, according to CEN.
Lung’s side chick — Zhang Hung, 21 — said she’s OK with her man not being able to have more children.
“It doesn’t matter that he’s lost his fertility,” she told CEN. “He has five children already.”

For a bigger penis, eat fruits and quit smoking

>>. . . a poor diet can affect more than your heart and weight, but also your erection.

Now if you are genuinely interested in enlarging your penis, there are things you can do to improve your chances of adding inches to your penis.

Simply make the following dietary changes:

• Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables
• Opt for lean meats such as fish and chicken, and limit your red meat consumption
• Choose whole wheat grains and oats
• Stay away from foods containing processed sugars, white flour products and fast food.
• Introduce multivitamins and minerals into your diet. NOTE: be careful to not have too much iron, but instead focus on increasing your natural zinc levels.
• Quit smoking. NOTE: smoking shrinks your arteries and capillaries whilst at the same time reducing your blood oxygen supply.<<

Japan has a penis festival in April. Check sushi carefully.

The Shinto Kanamara Matsuri ("Festival of the Steel Phallus") is held each spring at the Kanayama Shrine in Kawasaki, Japan. The penis, as the central theme of the event, is reflected in illustrations, candy, carved vegetables, decorations and a parade.

The Kanamara Matsuri is centered on a local penis-venerating shrine. The legend is that a sharp-toothed demon hid inside the vagina of a young woman and castrated two young men on their wedding nights. As a result, the young woman sought help from a blacksmith, who fashioned an iron phallus to break the demon's teeth, which led to the enshrinement of the weenie.

The Kanayama Shrine was popular among prostitutes who prayed for protection from VD.

It is also said the shrine offers divine protection for business prosperity, for the clan's prosperity and for easy delivery, marriage, and married-couple harmony.

Today, the festival has become a tourist attraction and is used to raise money for HIV research.

There's a prize for having a teeny weenie.

The contestants at Brooklyn’s first annual “Smallest Penis in Brooklyn” at the Kings County Bar were a cocky, potent lot with tumescent confidence and great big…hearts. The  competitors wowed the crowd with rapping, dancing, stand up comedy, and most of all, the confidence to stand up and say “Hey, I’ve got a tiny penis, and I’m more than OK showing it to you.”

Elderly man caught whacking-off in McDonald's parking lot

A man was arrested after watching porn and masturbating in a McDonald's parking lot in Bonita Springs, Florida early last year.

When deputies arrived, they found Spencer Toner sitting in a Mercedes-Benz, looking at porn on a laptop while whacking off.

A deputy knocked on the window of the Mercedes. Toner immediately shut off his laptop and rolled down his window. He told deputies he was there to "get a bite to eat."

Deputies asked for his license and registration and told him he was under arrest for indecent exposure. Toner told them he was homeless and living in his car.

The complainant told deputies that Toner was told to leave the parking lot because young children were around his vehicle but Toner told them they were invading his privacy. He was booked into the Lee County jail on indecent exposure charges

Police say the act occurred at Agincourt Library on April 7, but Davis got away. However, on May 31, when Davis allegedly showed up again with another cucumber, someone at the library was quick to call the cops.

Sun News asked Constable David Hopkinson if Davis threatened anyone at the library, and Hopkinson replied, "I don't think he had any free hands to make any threat."

Davis is charged with one indecent act count and two counts of failure to comply with probation, according to City News Toronto.

Aussie artist "Pricasso" paints with his penis

Tim Patch, commonly known by his professional stage name Pricasso, is an Australian artist who uses his penis, scrotum and buttocks to paint portraits, landscapes and female nudes.

Patch said he conceived of the idea of painting with his penis in 2005. Inspired after watching Puppetry of the Penis, he drew a smiley face in the back of a urinal with his penis and then decided to attempt it at home using paint. After telling a friend of his work, she had him paint at a 2005 New Year's Eve party on a dare

Because normal paint contains lime which erodes the skin, Pricasso makes his own water-based paints. Before he begins painting he covers his penis and buttocks with Vaseline in order to work without causing irritation to his skin.

While art galleries showed little interest in his paintings, Pricasso became a regular attraction at Sexpo exhibitions around the world, where he paints portraits for attendees.

Pricasso's appearance at the 2010 Expo Sexo y Entretenimiento México was cancelled after censors from the Mexico City authorities attended the exposition to verify the shows. He made his North American debut at the 2011 Miami Xposed Expo, and signed an agreement to appear exclusively at future Xposed Expo events.

Happy Feast of the Circumcision!

Above from "Circumcision of Christ," Menologion of Basil II, 979-984

The Feast of the Circumcision of Christ is a Christian celebration of the circumcision of Jesus in accordance with Jewish tradition, eight days (according to the Semitic and southern European calculation of intervals of days) after his birth, the occasion on which the child was formally given his name.

The circumcision took place, not in the Temple, though painters sometimes so represent it, but in the home.

The circumcision of Jesus has traditionally been seen, as explained in the popular 14th-century work "The Golden Legend," as the first time the blood of Christ was shed, and thus the beginning of the process of the redemption of man, and a demonstration that Christ was fully human, and of his obedience to Biblical law.

The feast day appears on 1 January in the liturgical calendar of the Eastern Orthodox Church. In the General Roman Calendar, the 1 January feast, which from 1568 to 1960 was called "The Circumcision of the Lord and the Octave of the Nativity," is now named the "Solemnity of Mary the Holy Mother of God and the Octave Day of the Nativity of the Lord." It is celebrated by some churches of the Anglican Communion and virtually all Lutheran churches.
